During this global pandemic, we are hearing hundreds of stories of people who are either sick, scared, alone or separated from loved ones. Some are ALL of the above!
A small group of volunteers started making home made cards and writing letters, and Patient+Family Care mailed them to the individuals we had heard from. Before we knew it, we were getting requests from recipients who were so happy to receive the mail, that they wanted to request mail be sent to someone THEY knew could use a cheerful surprise.
We now have LOTS of people who could use some simple cheer from others, so they are reminded that there is good in this world, even in the middle of a pandemic.
Two ways to participate in the Project:
Number 1: 1) Create home made cards or letters *Use supplies you have at home, and create colorful and fun cheerful cards/letters *Make the messages generic (ex: Thinking of you, Have a great day, Take Care, You are not alone, etc.) 2) Mail the completed cards/letters to Patient+Family Care *Our address is 2660 NE Hwy 20 Suite 610 #338 Bend, OR 97701 3) Ask friends and family to participate *Share this project with others. The more cards/letters we receive... the more cheer we can spread! 4) Email Patient+Family Care if you have an individual request *Send an email, with the name, address and brief story of someone YOU know could use some cheerful mail 5) Follow us on our special Cheerful Cards Project Social Media sites to see the impact!
Number 2: 1) Create home made cards or letters for your OWN family and friends *Use supplies you have at home, and create colorful and fun cheerful cards/letters *Make the messages individualized and unique to the person you are sending it to! 2) Mail the completed cards/letters to your recipient 3) Ask friends and family to participate *Share this project with others. The more creators, the merrier! 4) Ask your friends and family if THEY have a recipient in mind *Either make a card on your own and send it out, OR let them know they can email us! 5) Share with us your OWN creations on our special Cheerful Cards Project Social Media sites so we can all see the reach!
