Having a baby wind up needing to stay in the NICU can be an overwhelming, scary, frustrating and isolating experience for many families.
Patient+Family Care understands that there will be a wide variety of emotions, struggles and challenges for every parent as they embark on the NICIU journey, and everyone’s experience will be unique to them. We want to help provide comfort and support to as many families as possible by directly offering education and connection not only from Patient+Family Care but from other amazing NICU parent organizations that are available as well.

“Parenting in the NICU and Beyond” is a unique and one-of-a-kind support community for NICU families:This is an online and interactive community that helps connect families who have a child in the NICU or who are NICU graduates, with other parents that are or have been in a very similar situation. The community is facilitated by a neonatal nurse who has worked directly with families in crisis for many years, and has a true passion for helping improve the NICU experience through education, information, connection, community and support.
This course explores a range of topics from:
Admission to the NICU
Mom’s discharge home
Making the hospital a home away from home
Surviving the ups and downs and inconsistencies
Balancing other children
How to manage other life responsibilities
Preparing for discharge
Life after the NICU
This course will offer time for reflection, sharing stories, learning from others, and having the chance to ask any question you have to a professional who has worked in this field and wants to help parents’ get through this time, both while in the NICU and beyond hospital discharge.
